Botanical Art Party

Create an unforgettable birthday for your child and get ready to craft a meaningful artwork with the plants and soil! Whittle to your own paintbrush using sticks, twigs, leaves and vines.

Source for natural colour pigments from trees, leaves, flowers, and rocks to create watercolour for painting. See how the colours evolve as they add different binders and substances.

When the children can see and feel mother nature more, they understand better why they need to love and protect it. Giving them space to be creative and resourceful with nature’s material found while building an emotional connection with mother nature.

Garden Party FAQ

Our role for the garden party

‍
Our focus for birthday parties is to provide fun and engaging activities for families and children. Decoration, hosting, catering, food & beverage are NOT part of our services.

We love to see the families and children have a good time and make memories. Hence, we allow parents to decorate and have food in the garden. You can come one hour before the activity to set up your decoration. The event, including clean-up, are to be completed one hour after the activity. For example, if the activity is 4 – 5 pm. You can set it up at 3 pm and clean up by 6 pm.

For parties with food and decoration in the garden, there will be an additional S$100 charge for the venue rental (one hour before and one hour after the activity). Two tables (120 x 60cm) can be provided. It’s a casual setting with greens, children usually sit around the grass and steps area. Tables to be returned to Mindful Space studio entrance after clean up.

It is the parent’s responsibility to reinstate the garden to its original condition. This includes cleaning up and removing all decorations, food, and items after the event. Role modeling to our children what it means to be responsible.

Alternatively, you may consider having your meal and cake at the eastern-western fusion restaurant beside our garden, “The Malayan Council”.

Mindful Space is responsible for our pre-planned activities only.

What do you need to bring / prepare for the garden party yourself?

✅ party food and drinks. Please receive your own food or cake deliveries. Cake can only be placed in an air-conditioner room (cold storage in a fridge is not available)
✅ table clothes (minimum two pieces, at 120 x 60cm)
✅ plates, cutleries, and cups
✅ wet wipes and napkins
✅ portable speaker for music if preferred (volume at a mindful and respectful level as there are classes in the building)
✅ groundsheets/picnic mats (according to your crowd size)
✅ birthday decorations (perhaps consider less messy decorations so you will save time on clean up!)
✅ trash bags
✅ extra tables/chairs (if needed)
✅ ice and cooler box (if needed)
✅ signage to usher the direction (suggest A4 size x 2) parents to removed after the party

Garden Party Weather

What happens if it rains on the day of my garden party?

The garden event is a rain-or-shine event. A great opportunity to learn to accept, be spontaneous, and be flexible with mother nature’s call.

In the event it rains, we move into the sheltered outdoor area, or the children can play in the rain (one of the favourites!).

Please bring an extra change of clothes. Play is serious learning! Children who have more free and unstructured play tend to self-regulate better.

Please note events are non-refundable or exchangeable.

Can I come in to observe the session? I would like to take some photos for the birthday event.

For the drop-off session, it is intentionally designed for the children only (we have a separate family programme if you are looking for parent and child participation). Children behave differently when parents are around; they are excited to show parents what they can do and sometimes lose focus and are not in the present moment. When children are overexcited and distracted, the chances of disruptions and accidents are higher. We would like to keep your child safe in this space.

Take this opportunity to explore the neighbourhood for good coffee/ tea. We prioritise your children safety in class, when the situation permits we will take photos to share with you via google drive link.

The teachers are happy to chat after class if you’d like to know more about your child or have questions.

Can I cut birthday cake or have light snacks at the space?

Our expertise is providing fun and memorable birthday activities to celebrate your child’s special birthday. Decoration, hosting, catering, food & beverage are not part of our service.

For events @ 28 Hongkong Street:

We only provide aerial fun activities. You have the luxury to select from a range of restaurants/cafes near the area for meals and cake cutting. The nearest restaurant is SAFRA @ 29 Carpenter Street.

For events @ 10 Winstedt Road:

Option 1:
The Malayan Council (TMC)

This Western-local fusion restaurant is located inside the premises. Please contact them directly for food and table arrangement, WhatsApp +65 9009 7345.

When you dine in at TMC (outside food is not allowed), you can bring in your cakes and cupcakes (halal). It makes sense that you are responsible for handling your own outside cakes and cupcakes arrangement.

Option 2:

Own food preparation
(only for garden / sensory & messy play party at 10 Winstedt Road)

To enjoy the space for cake cutting, food and decorations, venue rental rates are $200, which includes 1 hour before AND 1 hour after the event.

This is a self-service for setting up and cleaning up the space.
For extension, every additional 30 minutes is $40.

It is the parent’s responsibility to reinstate the food and decoration area to its original condition. This includes cleaning up and removing all decorations, food, and items after the event. Please throw the trash in the big black bins.

For example, the sensory and messy play activities are from 4:30 to 6 pm.
Parents can set up at 3:30 pm and clean and close the space by 7 pm.

We are committed to providing a meaningful and fruitful event for you with our current resources and capacity. We customised to allocate venue, teachers, materials and other logistics for each event.

Full payment is essential to confirm the event.

Your commitment keeps us sustainable so we can continue to serve you and the community.

Our events do not allow for make-ups, cancellations or refunds unless Mindful Space is unable to commence or proceed with the activity, or otherwise agreed. By registering for this event, you hereby agree to our limited liability and cancellation policy.
