More than 10 years ago, Royis intentionally sought out a new career that would enhance her health, keep her challenged and emotionally fulfilled, while sustaining her financially. She found the path to yoga. Her family was not supportive in the beginning, of her leaving a regular 9-to-5 job. However practicing and teaching yoga supported her in achieving work-life balance and eventually aided her in the care of her bedridden father.
Her interest in therapeutic work constantly motivates her to upgrade her Yoga skills and knowledge by attending various workshops. These keep her abreast with the many different Yoga styles and have deepened her knowledge and understanding of the execution of these different styles.
In year 2016, she decided to take up the diploma course with the Singapore Collage Of Traditional Chinese Medicine as a Chinese Medicine Health Management Practitioner. As a Yoga Instructor & Health Therapist she have learnt to adapt the use of the ancient-art of Yoga to suit our modern time needs, cutting across race and culture. She is also trained to teach Yoga for children and seniors as well as prenatal Yoga.
From 2006 to 2017, Royis also received teaching certification for Sivananda Yoga, Pilates Matwork, Baby Tuina Therapy, Yoga Therapy, Kundalini and Yin Yoga.
Another deep interest of hers is in Philosophy studies, which she believes complements the therapeutic Yoga practice of the body, mind and soul.
